Repeat customer! Nine years ago George Bunnell and the Presidential Construction team replaced both our siding and roof after major storm damage. So of course, George was my first call when I realized we had roof damage from tree branches rubbing on the roof. Once again, George came right out to take a look, cover the exposed areas, and arranged for repair. We are thrilled and grateful for the team’s consistent, quick, and amazing workmanship and customer service. Highly recommend!

Absolute 5-star transformation! After a severe hail storm, George Bunnell of Presidential Construction did a drive-by, inspected our roof, and completely turned our situation around. State Farm’s initial offer covered just 24 shingles, which didn't even meet our deductible. George stepped in with a claim specialist, a drone, and his amazing ladder-climbing dog, Libby. Within an hour of receiving his comprehensive drone photos, State Farm reversed their decision and approved a full replacement—including a complete re-decking to code, new flashing, an entry metal roof, and new gutters and garage doors. We also hired George to wrap our soffit, fascia, gables, and wood windows. His double roof crew was a machine. They protected our pool and home with specialized netting, finished the entire tear-off by noon on day one, and completely rebuilt and wrapped everything flawlessly in less than three days. Pictures do not lie. George Bunnell is a consummate professional whose masterclass project management brought our 84-year-old home back to life. If you want a contractor who will genuinely fight for you and deliver perfection, call Presidential Construction!

George Bunnell with Presidential Construction gave us excellent service when we needed our roof replaced and house painted because of hail damage. He took care of all the details to make sure everything was repaired or replaced as needed. George Bunnell came and identified the damage and then returned when the insurance adjuster came so he could point out the damage to make sure it was included in the adjuster’s report. When they arrived to do the work, they covered everything to prevent damage while they re-roofed the house. I would recommend George Bunnell to others because he will provide excellent service to his customers

Roof Replacement I cannot say enough great things about Alex from Presidential Construction. From the very beginning he took over this project, he was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. He explained every step of the roof process in a way that was easy to understand and kept me informed throughout the entire project. As a single mom handling this on my own, I was nervous and overwhelmed at first. Alex took the time to answer all of my questions patiently and thoroughly, which made me feel comfortable and confident in the decision being made. He truly went above and beyond by helping ensure that additional work my roof needed was completed, even though it wasn’t covered by insurance. Alex commitment to helping me was outstanding and I highly recommend working with him.

Excellent Service, Product & Completion We had hail damage, but our insurance company denied our claim. George's diligence and expertise shined when he met with our insurance. He was able to secure insurance funding for a new roof and gutters. What a blessing! The roofers were quick, efficient and neat and the gutters were completed the same week. This was a fantastic experience and I will recommend George and Presidential Roofing to all my friends! Thank you!

Outstanding Service I have not experienced storm damage to my home before. Drew.Eik was incredibly helpful in explaining the process. He was very patient with my many questions and patient with me as I made the choices on roof and siding, etc. The work was done beautifully, and just as he had predicted. If I had questions or concerns, I could always reach out to him and he got right back to me. He was reliable, prompt and extremely courteous. I would recommend him and his company with 100% confidence.

Great experience working with this company after a bad hail storm. George was fantastic. I greatly appreciated having a single point of contact throughout the entire process. George performed the inspection, worked with my insurance adjuster, responded promptly to all inquiries, and was there to oversee the operation on the date of the repair. They were in and out on my 1.5 story in one day. Most importantly, the roof and skylight look great. Their professionalism shined throughout. Highest recommendation for George and this entire outfit.

Selecting the appropriate window type and material impacts ventilation, views, maintenance, and efficiency. We guide you through options that best fit your home’s design and lifestyle.

Double-Hung Windows

Double-hung windows allow for flexible airflow from top or bottom sashes, making them versatile for various room layouts. They offer easy cleaning access and strong energy performance when equipped with insulated glass, suitable for many Woodbury homes seeking classic functionality.

Casement Windows

Casement windows hinge on one side and crank open outward, providing unobstructed views and tight seals when closed. They’re excellent for maximizing ventilation in living spaces and kitchens, with options for enhanced security features.

Slider Windows

Slider windows glide horizontally along tracks, offering simple operation for wider openings like patios or picture walls. They resist buildup of debris and provide clean lines that complement contemporary Woodbury architecture.

Vinyl Windows

Vinyl windows are economical and low-maintenance, with welded frames that resist warping and provide good thermal resistance. Available in multiple colors, they’re a practical choice for budget-conscious upgrades without sacrificing performance.

Composite Windows

Composite windows combine strength from multiple materials, offering superior durability and minimal care requirements. They provide excellent insulation and resistance to environmental factors, making them ideal for long-term installations.

Metal Windows

Why Replacing Old Windows Is Worth It

Windows affect more than your view. They’re part of your home’s thermal envelope — the barrier between conditioned air inside and whatever Minnesota is doing outside. When that barrier fails, your HVAC system works harder, moisture finds its way into your walls, and comfort drops in every room with a problem window.

Replacing old windows typically cuts heating costs by 15-30%, with the biggest impact on homes that still have original single-pane or early double-pane units. Beyond energy savings, new windows eliminate condensation problems that lead to mold and frame rot, improve soundproofing, and add real value at resale. In Woodbury’s housing market — where buyers in neighborhoods like Stonemill Farms, Dancing Waters, and Carver Lake Meadows are comparing properties carefully — window condition is one of the first things that gets noticed during a showing and flagged during an inspection.

Window replacement typically recoups 65-75% of the project cost in increased property value. And if your windows qualify for ENERGY STAR certification, you may be eligible for Xcel Energy rebates and federal tax credits that reduce the net cost further.

The Importance of Quality Windows in Woodbury

Well-chosen windows improve natural light, ventilation, and security while helping control indoor temperatures and noise levels. Outdated or poorly fitted windows can lead to air leaks, higher utility bills, and reduced comfort. In Woodbury’s growing market, energy-efficient windows can significantly boost resale appeal and value, as buyers prioritize features that support sustainable living.

  • Local teams with expertise — Familiar with Washington County standards and neighborhood preferences.
  • Open dialogue — Consistent updates and straightforward pricing.
  • Superior execution — Backed by comprehensive warranties.

How Our Process Works

Step 1: Free In-Home Assessment. We come out and look at every window you’re concerned about. We check for seal failures, frame damage, drafts, and glass condition, and we measure each opening. Takes about an hour.

Step 2: Estimate and Product Selection. You get a written, itemized estimate. We walk you through your options, show you the differences between products, and help you pick what fits your home and your budget.

Step 3: Scheduling. Once you’re ready to move forward, we lock in a date that works for your schedule. Most projects are booked within a few weeks depending on the season, and we confirm the timeline before installation day.

Step 4: Installation. Our crews work one window at a time — old unit out, new unit in, insulated, sealed, and trimmed before moving to the next opening. Your home is never exposed for more than a few minutes per window. Most full-home replacements take one to three days.

Step 5: Cleanup and Debris Removal. We haul away every old window, clean up all packaging and construction materials, vacuum around each opening, and leave your home the way we found it. You shouldn’t have to lift a finger after we’re done.

Areas We Serve in Woodbury

We replace windows across all Woodbury neighborhoods including Stonemill Farms, Dancing Waters, Wedgewood, Arbor Ridge, Eagle Valley, Bailey’s Arbor, Tamarack, Sommerset, Carver Lake Meadows, and City Walk. Older neighborhoods like Tamarack and Sommerset tend to have original windows reaching end-of-life. Newer areas more often deal with storm damage claims or isolated failures from builder-grade materials that didn’t hold up as expected.

Woodbury FAQ

Q: What window brands does Presidential Construction install?

We work with five manufacturers that have proven reliable in our climate. Andersen and Marvin are excellent for wood and aluminum-clad options. Pella offers strong casement and specialty window lines. Simonton and Windsor are top choices for high-quality vinyl at competitive prices. We help you choose the right brand and product line for your specific situation during the estimate.

What ENERGY STAR ratings should I look for?

For our climate zone, look for a U-factor of 0.27 or lower and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of 0.40 or lower. Windows meeting these thresholds qualify for certification through the ENERGY STAR program, which is the baseline for utility rebates and federal tax credits. All the products we recommend meet or exceed these standards.

Do I need a permit for window replacement in Woodbury?

Yes. The City of Woodbury requires a building permit for window replacements to ensure compliance with the Minnesota State Building Code and local energy standards. You can find details on the City of Woodbury Residential Building Permits page. We handle the entire process — application, inspections, and final sign-off — on every project.

My windows fog up every morning in winter — is that normal?

Condensation on the interior surface means humidity inside your home is high relative to the window’s insulating ability. Running exhaust fans and improving ventilation can help. But if the fog is between the panes — inside the glass unit itself — the seal has failed and no amount of humidity control will fix it. That unit needs replacing. We see failed seals constantly on windows 15-20 years old across Woodbury, especially on north and west-facing sides.

Is it worth replacing windows if I’m selling my house soon?

In Woodbury’s market, absolutely. Buyers notice window condition immediately during showings, and inspectors flag old or failing windows consistently. New windows remove a negotiation point that could cost you thousands at closing. The typical return is 65-75% of the investment in added property value, plus you avoid the risk of a buyer using your old windows as leverage to knock down the price.

We have 25-year-old builder-grade windows — should we replace all of them at once?

If they’re all the same age and type, they’re all at roughly the same point in their life cycle. Replacing them all at once is usually more cost-effective than doing it in phases because we’re already mobilized, and you get a consistent look and performance across the house. That said, if budget is a concern, prioritizing the windows with the worst performance — typically north-facing, basement, and the ones you feel drafts from — is a smart way to phase the project.

What’s the difference between a full-frame replacement and a pocket insert?

A full-frame replacement removes the entire old window including the frame, exposing the rough opening so we can inspect for hidden rot or moisture damage and install fresh insulation and flashing. A pocket insert slides a new window into the existing frame. Pocket inserts are faster and cheaper, but they only work if the existing frame is in solid condition. If there’s any rot, warping, or moisture damage in the frame, a full-frame replacement is the only option that makes sense long-term. We check during the assessment and recommend accordingly.

How do I know if my windows are under warranty?

Check any paperwork from when your home was built or the windows were last replaced. Most major manufacturers keep warranty records searchable by serial number on their websites. If you can’t find documentation, we can usually identify the manufacturer and product line during an inspection and help you look up coverage. Keep in mind that manufacturer warranties often require professional installation — if the original installation was done incorrectly, the warranty may not cover subsequent failures.

Can you match new windows to my existing ones if I’m only replacing a few?

In most cases, yes. We work with enough manufacturers and product lines that we can find close matches in frame color, style, and profile. A perfect visual match depends on the age and availability of your current window line — some products get discontinued over time. We’ll let you know upfront if there will be any visible difference and give you options for handling it.

Do triple-pane windows make sense in Woodbury?

For most homes, high-performance double-pane with low-E coatings and argon gas fill is the optimal balance of performance and cost. Triple-pane adds roughly 25-35% to the price and provides incrementally better insulation and soundproofing. Where triple-pane really earns its value is on north-facing windows, rooms where you notice the most cold radiating from the glass, and homes near I-94 or I-494 where road noise is a factor. We help you decide which windows, if any, justify the upgrade.

Should I replace windows and siding at the same time?

If both are approaching end-of-life, bundling makes sense. The flashing and sealing details where windows meet siding are critical waterproofing points. When both are done together, our crews integrate those connections seamlessly instead of working around existing materials. You also save on labor and deal with one project timeline instead of two.
